How much should you drink?

Many people, specially the youngest ones, ask how much alcohol they can drink without placing themselves in risk of getting drunk and facing its consequences. Although every body is different and results sure will vary between a person and another, here you have three guidelines for a healthy drinking time.

+ Drink less if you are a girl

Why

We are advising you to take your time because, when you drink, the part of your body which is responsible for dealing with the alcohol you take is your liver. If you give your liver more alcohol than what it can take and process, you get drunk. That said, get used to think a glass of cocktail should last you about 20 minutes from beginning to end. Besides the fact there is no need to hurry up (no matter how much your peers bother you about it), that will give your liver enough time to process the drink.

We are advising you to avoid sweet drinks and, in general, sweet whatever while you drink, because alcohol reacts with sugar in a way that will sure result unfavourable for you. Alcohol plus sugar makes more alcohol; that said, if you don't want to get drunk fast, don't combine that drink with a pie.

Last of all, we are advising you to drink less if you are a girl because studies proof that women are less resistant to alcohol than men. There is no chauvinism here, women's bodies are just like that.
